After hearing about our investment of over £2 million in new equipment and the addition of twenty-one new employees in the last twelve months, plus doubling our turnover within five years and embracing industry 4.0 technologies, Dave Tudor, Editor of Production Engineering Solutions Magazine came to visit us in March to learn more.

Experiencing the  external charm, character and heritage of our old cotton mill in contrast to the modern, dynamic workshop within, Dave saw the scope of our capabilities and Industry 4.0 practices in process, describing us as “one of the most comprehensive precision sub-contract engineering companies in the marketplace.”

Detailing our capabilities and machine capacity in greater detail, he also describes our flexibility and responsiveness to customer requirements. For example, sharing cloud based communication portals to provide real time order status and KPI’s, provided by our in-house developed ERP system.

Concluding the article with our remarkable achievements in 2018, he commented that “Velden is not a company to rest on it’s laurels” and quoted our own Paul Duckworth, Operations Manager:   “Austin has plans to drive turnover to up £15 million over the next four years. Based on our current enquiry levels and plans for investment, there’s absolutely no reason why that won’t become a reality, and with a sound infrastructure already in place, we’re well-placed to meet those ambitious objectives.”
